River Cruising
Have you ever wanted to experience a river cruise? I recently had the opportunity to do just that, and I absolutely loved it!
My husband and I boarded the Imagery II in Luxembourg and cruised down the Moselle River to the Rhine, ending in Frankfurt off the Main River. It was eight days of fun and exploration, meeting new people, relaxing cruising time, excellent meals with accompanying wine and beer selections, and pampering by friendly and caring crew members. We chose an Active and Discovery River Cruise which is perfect for travelers with varying interests and energy levels. From action-packed experiences and interactive discoveries to traditional sightseeing, it was wonderful to be able to tailor our trip to suit our interests and pace. One day we hiked up a dirt path to experience breathtaking views from the top of a medieval castle, and the next, we strolled through a town with quaint cafes and pastry shops while hearing about the history from our guide. Later that day, we stopped to enjoy a glass of wine and relax in a little garden along the river with some local residents. Carrying about 125 passengers and 37 crew members, the 64 outside cabins with comfortable river-facing beds are situated along 3 of the four decks. The top deck is used for various purposes, from sitting in a lounge chair or at a table enjoying the scenery to special dining and entertainment events. These impressive ships cruise throughout Europe, including on the Rhine, Danube, Rhone, Moselle, Seine, and Lower Danube. While there is a range of energetic excursions for you to choose from, like participating in a hiking tour in Val D’Enfer or a biking tour around Vienna, or even a canoe trip on the Danube there are also other options. If you’re looking for something more interactive but less physical, there is a selection of hands-on experiences, such as a painting class in Amsterdam, tasting locally produced cheese and beer at an ancient abbey, or saying “good morning” to Vienna on an early-riser walk to a quaint café for breakfast, there are also the traditional bus and walking tours of the local towns and villages. If you’re interested in trying an Active and Discovery or any kind of river cruise, let me know! I’d love to help you find the perfect cruise. |
